Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Ultrasonic NDT Level II to join our growing team. The Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Technician Level 2 will properly perform specific calibrations, test/inspections, and record results in accordance with procedures. The Level 2 Technician shall be able to prepare parts before and after inspection along with having the ability to follow procedures or work instructions in the technique/method for which certified.

Responsibilities

* Have the skills and knowledge to set-up and standardize equipment, process parts, interpret and evaluate for acceptance or rejection, and document results

* Be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the technique/method

* Have the skills and knowledge to conduct system performance checks in accordance with the applicable process standard(s)

* Be capable of providing the necessary guidance and/or supervision to trainees and Level I employees

* Be familiar with the codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control the method as used by the employer

* When specified in the written practice, be capable of developing work instructions from approved general procedures, Such work instructions shall require final approval by a Level III (3) approved in the method

* Have a basic knowledge of relevant product manufacturing and inspection technology

* Performs other duties as assigned

* Follows procedure(s) to maintain related test equipment, tools, and machinery in good working condition

* Works flexible hours and overtime when required

* Completes data sheets and work orders using prescribed technology

Skills / Qualifications

* Completion of a two-year program of technical trades training in an applicable subject and/or

previous qualification or certification in Ultrasonic NDT method both immersion and contact

* Technician must successfully pass UT Level 2 testing requirements within the first (2) months in his/her position

* Minimum of three (3) years of Ultrasonic experience as a certified Level 2 testing raw material both immersion and contact methods

* Follow and remain up to date with the latested version of the company's "Employee Handbook"

* Experience with Ultrasonic processes

* Ultrasonic Level 2 per NAS 410 Latest Revision

* Experience testing some combination of: Welds, castings, forgings, of steel, titanium, and aluminum alloys. Composite testing is a plus

* Experience using industry specs such as: AMS-STD-2154, AMS 2630, and AMS 2631

* Experience using Prime specifications such as: Boeing, GE, Pratt & Whitney, Honeywell, and Northrop Grumman

* Ability to organize and document NDT results

* Familiar with testing codes and standards of ASME Section V (5) Boiler, Pressure, and Vessle (BPV)

Must be able to read and write English

This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services.
