As a Senior Experimental Systems Group (ESG) Systems Test
Engineer (Level 5) , you will design, develop, and deliver
state-of-the-art systems testing for space-based applications for
commercial, civil, milsatcomm, and/or national security programs.
You will lead a highly-motivated team that works with domestic or
international customers on their latest satellite systems. This is
a 1st shift position.
Project assignments typically span the complete program life
cycle, from internal trades, concept studies and system definition,
to satellite development, launch, and on-orbit operations and test.
Candidates will belong to a systems engineering team interacting
with customers, suppliers, program management, integration and test
engineers, and senior technologists.
Execution and Strategy
Identify process improvement using tools and technology such as
MBSE to enhance test product development.
Provide Technical support to the Test Manager to achieve long
term goals for test team.
Provide cross functional test architecture for comprehensive
program test plan approach.
Develop analysis tools supporting system testing effort.
Define and develop plans for testing complex satellite systems
Support trade studies involving system test.
Lead system-level test development and analysis.
Integration, Test, Verification, and Validation
Verify space system requirements and interfaces.
Lead system-level integration and validation.
Lead system test preparation, execution, troubleshooting, and
Technical Lead Engineer (Advise, Assist and Check)
Conduct reviews with multi-disciplinary teams to insure test
products are ready for use.
Provide technical knowledge support and training to teams within
the program on test related activities
Maintain currency on industry practices related to test
technologies, techniques and methodologies and drive improvements
into test development activities
Mentor the program junior systems engineers and review their
work for quality.
This position requires an active/current U.S. Security Clearance
with successful completion of a Single Scope Background
Investigation (SSBI) by the federal government within the last 5
years (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past
24 months is considered active.)
Basic (Required) Qualifications
Bachelors'' Degree or higher in an engineering classification or
physics is required.
Experience with systems engineering.
Preferred (Desired) Qualifications
Experience system level testing on satellite systems.
Understanding of the verification process.
Familiarity with critical chain project management (CCPM).
Experience using test instrumentation.
Typical Education / Experience
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced
technical education from an accredited course of study in
engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
(e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years'' related work
experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and
experience (e.g. PhD+9 years'' related work experience, Master+12
years'' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is
the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
