Job Description:

DUTIES: DIRECTV, LLC is seeking a Senior-Software Engineering in El Segundo, CA (and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.; may work from home) to design and develop highly secure mission critical streaming and messaging deployment software applications using Java, Spring and restful web services in an agile development environment. Leverage new technologies to build the next generation of Kafka SDK that will be used across the organization. Test and debug new software and make enhancements on the existing SDK which will be used by other head end development teams across the organization. Maintain code in version control systems, including Git. Working knowledge of CI/CD (continuous integration/continuous delivery) principals and processes using various tools: Maven and Jenkins. Solid understanding of cloud environment (AWS) and management. Manage code & configurations for multiple environments, release management process, creating and maintaining environment configuration and controls, code integrity and work closely with platform team. Build software applications using Java, J2EE, Spring and Restful webservices. Deploy Restful webservice applications in AWS Cloud instances. Utilize code versioning tools Git and DevOps environments: Maven and Jenkins.

REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in a related occupation building software applications using Java, J2EE, Spring and Restful webservices; deploying Restful webservice applications in AWS Cloud instances; and utilizing code versioning tools Git and DevOps environments: Maven and Jenkins.
