Job Description Job Description Salary: Overview: The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing 24-hour management of medical functions of the facility. Also, for providing effective leadership to the clinical staff, has knowledge of the organization, and provides marketing support for the facility. Accountability: Medical Director Duties: The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for and is the ultimate authority for the prescribing detoxification and/or psychotropic medication prescriptions and over-the-counter medications in accordance with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations. This includes the, titration, altering, and termination of dosages as applicable for residents participating in all levels of care. Responsible directly or through a supervisory relationship with a licensed physician, physician's assistant and / or detox specialist, for ensuring that all information obtained during physical examinations, laboratory results and other diagnostic evaluations is duly recorded in all resident records. This includes that all physical examinations are completed, certifying each applicant's eligibility for treatment. Current on Clinical staff meetings Implements plans for performance improvement Evaluates quality of program on an ongoing basis Provides training for staff development Facilitates communication with ancillary services Plan, supervise, and regularly review all medication ordered to residents. The Nurse Practitioner, in conjunction with the Clinical Director, the CEO, and Program Director, are responsible for ensuring that a 24 hour-a-day emergency contact is available to all program residents. Attends clinical and administrative meetings to share information inter-departmentally Meets with clinical staff monthly Works collaboratively with the Clinical Director Demonstrates knowledge of emergency procedures; ability to communicate these procedures clearly and accurately Minimum Qualifications: Nurse Practitioner shall be a Board-Certified licensed to practice in the State of California. Have at least 5 years of clinical practice in direct resident care and at least 3 to 5 years medical management experience in a managed care setting. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. CPR/First Aid Certificate required. Must have a current TB Test and a valid state drivers license. Must be registered with the state agency. Should be proficient in a variety of office software (email tools, spreadsheets and databases) and hardware (copy, fax, computer, etc.).
