Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Director of Product Development to join our team. The ideal candidate has proven experience in leading and executing a comprehensive product strategy. This role will report to the Executive Director of Operations and Supply Chain and will work closely with colleagues in the design, digital, marketing, and operations departments across the organization to drive and achieve product goals.
Responsibilities

• Lead and own all phases of product development, from conception to development, production, and launch, adhering to timelines, budgets, and margin goals.
  
• Develop and execute comprehensive product strategies in collaboration with design and marketing teams aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
  
• Lead material sourcing and vendor management.
  
• Manage all packaging needs.
  
• Work with operations and supply chain teams to negotiate pricing and maintain cost efficiencies.
  
• Oversee product testing, quality control, and compliance in line with brand standards and regulatory requirements.
  
• Coordinate with demand planning, sales, and marketing teams to ensure smooth and timely product launches.
  
• Identify and interpret market trends relevant to the product lines.
  
• Assist sales and customer experience teams with product-related questions and keep them informed of relevant changes.
  
• Onboard new product development platforms.
  
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
  
• Utilize data to inform product decisions and measure performance.
  
• Ensure timely product launches through excellent communication and project management skills.
  
• Lead and develop a high-performing product development team, fostering a culture of innovation, efficiency, and excellence.
  
• Periodic travel to overseas suppliers may be required.
  
• Support all new and existing company needs.
  
  Qualifications
  
  
• 8+ years of experience in product development, with at least 3-4 years working specifically with bags and accessories.
  
• 4+ years of experience managing direct reports.
  
• Strong understanding of handbag construction, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  
• Experience working with global suppliers and manufacturers.
  
• Excellent communication and project management skills.
  
• Experience building and managing a team.
  
• Strong analytical skills to interpret and act on data insights.
  
• Proactive problem solver capable of troubleshooting effectively.
  
• Comfortable with ambiguity and able to lead projects proactively.
  
• Proven success in working cross-functionally with all levels of the organization.
  
• A highly collaborative, driven, and team-oriented individual passionate about product development.
